Relic - A Possession Horror RPG (Draft)

“Remember that party we all went to last week? Who invited you?” Rachelle’s voice shook at the realization.
“Stevie,” she looked across the basement.
“And you?”
The belly of the house groaned. Deep. The furnace in the basement scorched white hot as a flash of recognition overtook Liz’s features.
“Stevie.”
Relic is a semi-silent, possession-horror roleplaying experience meant for 4-5 players and one Facilitator who will be responsible for leading a foul haunt upon their friends.
CREATOR'S NOTE.
This is an EARLY-ACCESS version of this game. It is in no way finished, or anywhere even close. The goal is to get this playtested and proofread/consulted on WAAAAY before the final version goes public. If you are reading this, just know I’m keeping this live because I want feedback on the system and want people to imagine how they would run/play the game. Here’s What You Remember.
One week ago, your friend Stevie (any pronouns) invited four to five friends to an intimate get together. The other partygoers were peers on campus that you heard whisperings of on campus. Some connections were innocent. Others hid a truth more complicated, dark, and esoteric. Needless to say, that many dissonant personalities at a party so small culminated in high tensions quite quickly.
Then, Stevie proposed a game. They placed something they called a Relic between you all and sat down in front of it, red solo cup in hand. With one final swig of dark liquor, the pupils seeming to grow nickel-sized in their eyes, they invited you all to play.
Touching the Relic was easy. Everything that comes after is much, much harder.
Taking place one week after that doomed party. One player will take the lead as your Facilitator, fulfilling the role of Stevie Fisher, the mysterious figure spinning the web that's ensnared you all. Starting with about 30 minutes of character creation, the game will then begin with two parallel storytelling experiences. The party (players) must try desperately to escape the terrors hidden in The House they’ve been brought to, and survive the cryptic and sinister experiences they experience in each room. The Facilitator will uncover a Relic of interest as the game unfolds, answering a list of questions about the item, while also terrifying the party by performing Possession Cards on their unsuspecting players, revealing secrets determined during character creation, flipping haunt cards to manifest inexplicably terrifying experiences in the house, and determining whose exit from the house at the end of the night is possible.
Remember. The Relic wants you in the ground. If it can’t have that, it wants to continue to wreak havoc in the world, adding more names to its claim. Proceed only if you are one of the brave souls willing to trap themselves in the damning echo of the night to stop this chain. Or, if you’re Stevie. Poor, poor Stevie.
